Remember last week, how I showed you these cute mugs that we made with a regular old sharpie marker? And how we had grand plans to use them in our first anniversary photos? Yeah. That didn’t exactly happen as planned. And because my best friend is so completely awesome, it all worked out beautifully.
You see, Sunday we were supposed to meet up for the photos at a local Christmas tree farm for some lovely rustic-esque photos complete with flannel blanket, hot cocoa, and gingerbread men. But the wind was so bone-chilling cold
we I decided that we needed to do them indoors, and thankfully, Kat didn’t kill me when I chose a location that was way closer to her neck of the woods than ours (…after she had already made the trek to our neighborhood). To be fair, I did “bribe” her with the most awesome gingerbread cookies…
Since the traditional first anniversary gift is paper, having some photos taken to go along with some yet to be opened gifts (our anniversary isn’t until the 29th….!!!) seemed perfectly perfect to us, so after a change in location, and props, Kat worked her magic.
We ended up at the Franklin Park Conservatory, aka a really BIG green house. We actually looked into getting married here (after we learned of a flood at our church..) but it can get quite pricey so we nixed it. It’s actually one of my favorite places to go around Christmas time because they always have vivacious exhibits with lights, poinsettias, and even host a gingerbread house competition!
So, I’ll quit jabbering so that you can see some of Kat’s handiwork! She should totally be a photographer! She’s got some serious talent!
Still the best thing to ever happen to me. One year down, forever to go!
